COP28, the United Nations’ annual climate change conference, kicked off on 30 November, with tens of thousands of delegates congregating in the UAE to further the global climate process. The climate clock is ticking and the outcome of the first Global Stocktake – a report card of sorts that provides a comprehensive assessment of progress since the Paris Agreement – is set to shape country ambition levels towards climate action and the overall net zero emissions trajectory.
